YORK City Baths Club sisters Carrie and Genna Suddes starred at the National Triathlon Championships in Solihull.

Genna continued her form from the recent British Schools and National Biathlon Championships by finishing eighth overall in the under-15s category.

Her event consisted of a ten-shot static shoot, a 100 metre swim and then the combined event where the youngsters had to knock down five targets followed by an 800m run, twice.

Genna was part of the Yorkshire Pentathlon Club team which won gold, earning her an invitation to join the Pentathlon GB English Talent Programme.

Carrie finished 17th in the U17s competition at the modern pentathlon event, which consisted of a ten-shot static shoot, a 200 metre swim and then a combined event of shooting five drop down targets and an 800m run, three times.

She was part of the Yorkshire Pentathlon Club team which finished in the bronze medal position.

York City Baths Club head coach James Richards said: “It’s great that YCBC is producing young athletes with national potential in a variety of disciplines.

“Their commitment and dedication to training allows them to venture into new sporting challenges.”
