A TOTAL of 18 medals and a stack of personal best times were bagged by 13 Team Jorvik youngsters at Harrogate Swimming Club’s Spa Town A/B Graded meet.

Joseph Senior, 13, competed in nine events and enjoyed a clean sweep of personal best times, taking medals in eight, including gold in both the 200 metres individual medley and 200m breaststroke.

Zak Moorcroft, 13, won medals in four events, achieving a regional qualifying time in the 100m butterfly to add to his two other regional qualification times.

Patrick Neary-Lamond, 11, competing in his first distance events, achieved personal best times across the board and a top-ten finish in the 50m backstroke.

Antonia Bunyan, 14, smashed her previous best times in 200m backstroke and 400m freestyle events, and gained a silver medal in the 50m backstroke.

There was gold for 13-year-old Esme Littlewood in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 200m individual medley, with new personal best times in the 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke.

Rhiannon Wood, 13, competed in her first 200m freestyle race, securing a top ten finish and was awarded silver for the 50m butterfly.

Ellie Fothergill, 13, 12-year-old Natasha Sanderson, Romani Small, 13, and Imogen Wood, 11, competed in their first distance events, clocking personal best times. Sanderson was fifth in all three of her events.

Team Jorvik newcomer Astrid Mawle, 11, ensured qualification for the Yorkshire Championships Winter event in October in her 100m freestyle event.

Ten-year-old Gabby Sanderson, attending her first licensed swimming meet, secured runners-up medals in both her swims.

Jess Buckton, 12, secured top ten finishes in three distance events.
