YORK Eagles basketball star Tom Flatters has hard and fast hoop hopes of national recognition.
Flatters, a Year 9 student at Fulford School, has been called up for England Basketball training in Nottingham.
It was less than a year ago when Flatters first started playing the sport and he advanced to selection for North Yorkshire and then on to the Yorkshire squad for Under-13s.
This season Flatters has been invited to the regional performance centre for Yorkshire. He has also shone for his school, who are the reigning North Yorkshire U14 champions and the Eagles U14s, for whom he is currently the leading points scorer.
