EASI-ROCKITS junior captain Rob Leyshon was picked out as the star player in an VX tournament held in Scunthorpe to launch John Leggott College’s regional Centre of Excellence.
Leyshon led an Easingwold side of Matthew Leyshon, David Leyshon, Will Harland- Knight, Jake Hewison, Archie Bell and Ben Stevens.
Easi’s first match was against a strong Falkirk side, but they won a tough game by a close margin.
They were then edged out in their second match against Scunthorpe Rams, before losing to an improving Ripon outfit.
Overall tournament winners Scunthorpe then comfortably beat Easi-RockIts, who were coached by Paul Hildreth.
Hildreth said: “I’m delighted with the way these lads played and particularly pleased they got a win.
“They were the youngest team here and had never played before as a team so they should be proud of what they have done.
