Owen Anderson on march for Pocklington RUFC under-13s

POCKLINGTON RUFC under-13s had a seaside trip to remember after beating Scarborough 50-5.

From the start they were on the offensive, pounding Scarborough’s defensive line and forcing them back.

The opening try came from a well-worked move which saw Jonty Atkinson chase his own kick ahead to cross.

They scored again when Owen Anderson ran nearly the full length of the field before being caught by the defence – managing to pop the ball to Tom Rushworth, who powered over the line.

The third try came from a penalty which saw Jack Foster sneak across.

Scarborough tried to rally but Atkinson again showed his running skills when galloping the full length of the field to score his second try.

Not to be outdone, Elliot Adamson repeated the feat for a good individual try. But Atkinson was in full flow now and a neat chip over the defenders saw him pick up the loose ball and claim his hat-trick.

Stephen Hutchinson scored a lovely try from a 20-yard solo run, and the final score came from Foster outpacing the opposition. Five conversions came from the boot of Anderson.
