POCKLINGTON RUFC Colts rounded off their 2013/14 campaign in style with a 50-5 home triumph over Darlington.

The Colts, who received a new strip before kick off from new sponsors Brooks Macdonald Asset Management, laid down a marker for next season with an emphatic victory for a side of under-18s.

Pock blew Darlington away from the off and were out of sight by the interval at -0 thanks to six first-half tries.

Fly-half David Davison created the opening try, chipping over the defence for centre John Soanes to cross thhe whitewash.

Winger James Glew ran in two tries from his own half, before Soanes scored a 70-yard effort by swerving through half a dozen tackles.

Scrum-half Tom Hick darted over and back row Connor Allen took a quick tap and finished himself, while kicker Joe Laudage thumped landed five out of six first-half attempts.

Pocklington took their foot off the pedal in the second period, and Darlington scrambled over for a consolation try after a spell of pressure.

But the home side had the final word as Michael Gilbank's break and stunning cut out pass sent wing Shaun Williamson scampering over in the left corner.

Then they turned the ball over for centre Charlie Sleigh to power 80 yards to the line.
