POCKLINGTON Predators under-14s celebrated their York Minor Football League division one title triumph with a 4-1 home win over Copmanthorpe.

The club are now aiming to complete a trophy double as they face Wigginton Grasshoppers in the final of the York FA U14s Minor Cup at York City’s Bootham Crescent ground on Wednesday, May 9 (7.30pm).

They got off to a superb start in their penultimate league outing against Copmanthorpe, taking the lead through Harry Crusher’s sublime left-footed shot.

However, Pock ’keeper Sam Flinton was then beaten and the sides were level at the break.

The home side raised their game after the break and a corner by Nathan Saltmer was despatched by Jamie Harvey.

Rob Cooney curled in the third from an acute angle and the final goal came from a long-range kick that allowed Saltmer to make a break through the Copmanthorpe defence and finish with a classy touch.
