York schoolboys Under-12s footballers posted a convincing 3-0 triumph over hosts Wakefield.

York showed a fast pace from the kick off, winning the midfield battle to unleash early attacks which immediately put the Wakefield side on the back foot.

After 20 minutes, York were rewarded when centre-half Joe Kilvington side-footed home after his header was parried.

Good work from winger Max Tweddle in the second half teed up man of the match Donald Chimalilo to double the lead.

After a startling save from York goalkeeper Adam Precious, Chimalilo bagged the third with a chipped shot.

York now face the stiff test of visiting leaders Sheffield in the West Yorkshire Cup semi-final.
