FULFORD Football Club Under-8s are more prepared for the winter months ahead thanks to a sponsorship deal with York-based directory services provider Simunix Ltd.

The mixed squad of boys and girls, as well as their three coaches, now all sport waterproof training jackets courtesy of the company which is based at York Science Park and whose brands include ukphonebook.com

Simunix managing director John Lewis, whose grandson plays for Fulford, said he hoped the tops would help the team as well as promote the directory enquiry number 118 365 which, at 50p a minute, is one of the cheapest in the competitive 118 market.

“It’s good for the team and seemed a good idea all round,” he said.

Coach Adrian Pickup said: “It’s great for the club and the kids are really proud of them. It makes them feel part of a team. It brings them all together.

“They are a lot closer now - we have played for over a season and you can see that from how they play, and over the next few months, the tops will keep us all dry and warm. A big thanks to the sponsors for that.”

The team wore their new training tops for the first time to their match against Wigginton Grasshoppers last Sunday.
