Joy for J and J GOALS from Joe Stamp and Jack Hughes saw York schoolboy under-11s get their season off to a winning start following a tricky trip to East Riding.
An even first half ended goal-less with Isaac Meehan, Taylor Bell, Dan Tingle and Will Hollings all strong defensively for York.
After the break, great work down both wings by Daniel Myers and George Turbine was a strong feature before 15 minutes rom time the deadlock was broken, Hughes thundering in a fine header after interplay between Harry Tinker and Myers.
East Riding equalised but as the final throes neared, Stamp tapped in from close range to secure maximum points after the home keeper failed to hold on to a long-range effort .
