FIVE players from the York FA Under-19s Football League have been selected for the North Riding County FA U18s representative squad.
Haxby duo Matty Day and Tom Barnes, Wigginton’s Jack Rudkin, Alex Robinson, of Dringhouses, and James Ash, who plays for Rawcliffe, have all won call-ups.
In the league, Dringhouses kept up their good form with a 7-2 win at York RI.
Tom Hawksby and Ben Dale hit doubles with Liam Robertson, Cameron Mulhearn and Josh Ropley Kitson also on target. Judd Cocker and A Dam Chaplin replied.
Haxby won 4-2 at new boys York Cubs. Reece Chapman and Will Edmond netted for the home team but Tom Davies (2), Liam Brighton and North Riding U18s captain Day countered for the visitors.
Wilberfoss suffered another defeat, this time 5-0 at home to Rawcliffe.
Kieran Nelson, Reuben Young, Dylan Howlett, Jack Bywater and Ash, a goalkeeper for the county team, were the scorers.
Fulford won for the first time this season, 4-1 at Acomb Athletic. Roy Page was a hat-trick hero, with Jack Davies their other marksman.
Tockwith and Thorpe drew 1-1, Alex Hartley netting for the former.
