YOUNGSTERS from a quartet of junior football clubs held a charity tournament in tribute to Oscar Hughes, who died in May.
Haxby Town under-8s hosted the event in aid of Fighting For Oscar, with Bishopthorpe White Rose, Fulford and Easingwold also taking part.
Oscar, nine, a keen footballer, was diagnosed with a brain tumour and his parents have raised thousands of pounds to help youngsters with similar illnesses.
Andy Boast, of White Rose U8s said: "There was some fantastic football played by all the teams. A total of £400 was raised from donations, raffle and proceeds from the cafe.
"A big thank you to all the coaches concerned, parents, supporters and especially players. The day proved to be a great tribute to Oscar."
