12:07pm Saturday 17th May 2008

STAR performer in the York and District Junior Cricket Association's Under-15s President's Cup was Yapham leg-spinner Nick Edwards, who claimed five wickets with the last five balls of the game.

Edwards returned figures of 6-3 in three overs to seal a 47-run victory for his side in the preliminary round against Dringhouses.

Osbaldwick gave holders Heworth a scare, bowling them out for 59 runs.

But they spoiled their effort by giving away 25 extras as Heworth reached 84, thanks to Oliver Sherwood (24) and Pete Tasker (21).

Alex Dale (3-6) and Dan Ellwood (2-3) then restricted Osbaldwick to 50 all out.

Bolton Percy beat Rufforth by ten wickets as Tom Atkinson (48) and Jonathan Pollick (39) scored the 99 runs required.

Pocklington had a 52-run win over Selby, with John Vale 41 in the runs.
