Tadcaster pupils in the swim at last

AFTER five years of coming up short, these Tadcaster Grammar School pupils are celebrating success in the Leeds & District Swimming Championships.

The school's swimming squad finished as runners-up five years in a row before finally breaking their duck in the event at Leeds Grammar School.

Tadcaster beat 14 other schools to the prize, scoring an amazing 280 points - 92 points ahead of their nearest rivals.

Rob Solk, head of PE at Tadcaster, said: "The swimming squad show a lot of commitment with their training and team ethic and thoroughly deserve their success."

The team categories included Year 7 boys and girls, Year 8 and 9 boys and girls, Year 10, 11 and 12 boys and girls.
