SELBY’S Tom Collins was the big winner at the end-of-season awards ceremony for York’s Joe Lumb Under-17s and Lord’s Taverners cricket teams.
Joe Lumb captain Collins collected four gongs at the event at Pike Hills Golf Club, which was attended by more than 80 players, parents, guests and officials.
As well as winning the outstanding performance award for his innings of 151 against Bradford, Collins also scooped the outstanding contribution award for scoring a total of 345 runs at an average of 69, taking 11 wickets at an average of 14 and pouching seven catches.
To cap a fine season, Collins also claimed the overall Joe Lumb competition awards for player of the season and top all-rounder.
Scott Shepherd took the fielding award after consistent “ground fielding of the highest quality”.
Team manager Kevin Ambrosen praised the effort of all players after they were narrowly beaten in the final as they strove to retain the title.
Harry Sutcliffe bagged the U11s player of the tournament award, with Will Huffer getting the U13s accolade and William Spencer the U15s plaudits.
Team managers Russell Bilton, Mick Pickering and Graham Tipping thanked all supporters and parents for their help during the campaign.
