GIRLS from Rufforth Cricket Club flew the flag for Yorkshire at the north finals of the Lady Taverners regional under-15s club competition.
The York side missed out on a place in the national finals after finishing third in the regional showpiece at Sheffield United Cricket Club.
Durham side Willington beat Rufforth and Cheshire representatives Appleton to book their place in finals at Ellesmere College on Thursday.
Appleton also beat the Rufforth girls to clinch second place in the three-team finale.
In their opening game, Rufforth restricted Willington to 65-1 from their 12 overs and then made a brave effort to chase down the target, finishing four runs short on 61-4.
Rufforth batted first against Appleton and totalled 61-7 in 12 overs, with the Cheshire side passing their score for the loss of only two wickets.
England fast bowler Katherine Brunt attended the event and umpired all three U15 matches.
Brunt also presented the teams with their certificates and T-shirts, and handed the trophy to the winners.
Burnley won the U13 competition played on the same day to earn the chance to represent the north in their age group on Thursday.
