TADCASTER Magnets secured third place in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15s Championship zone ‘A’ with a four-wicket win over Ovington.
Also in zone ‘A’, a knock of 39 not out from Louis Crosby helped Acomb to113-4 before Charlie Marshall (3-6) restricted Bolton Percy to 64-8 in reply.
The final game in zone ‘A’ saw plenty of wickets as Stamford Bridge beat Heworth ‘B’ by five wickets.
Lewis Woardby took 3-8 as Heworth made 70-7, and Luke Huffer’s 3-16 was in vain as Bridge won at 72-5.
In zone ‘B’, Londesborough Park sealed their play-off spot with a fourwicket win over neighbours Pocklington.
Pocklington made 76-6, with 42 from Ed Mills, before Harry Gamble made 25 to see Park over the line at 78-6, despite figures of 3-8 from Pock’s Tom Scrowston.
Clifton Alliance confirmed third spot with a 108-run victory over Hemingbrough. A knock of 50 not out from Jamie Butt and 52 not out from Joe Kilvington helped Clifton to 153-1. Hemingbrough were then bowled out for 45.
Gilberdyke made the long trek to Sheriff Hutton Bridge, but were unable to grab the points in a highscoring game. Josh Ainley made 43 and George Brown scored 40 to give Bridge a total of 152-4.
In reply, Gilberdyke made 111-7, with Nathan Creaser hitting 28.
Yapham beat Malton & Old Malton by three wickets in a mid-table affair.
Yapham’s Callum Mooney restricted the hosts to 84-9 with 3-10.
However, L Scott’s 3-14 made little difference to the end result.
The play off semi-finals will see York ‘A’ take on Londesborough Park and Heworth ‘A’ meet Sheriff Hutton Bridge ‘A’.
