OVINGTON will host Bolton Percy in the semi-final of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11 Cup after a narrow victory over Walton.

Finn Baqai’s 30 and 2-4 in four overs helped them win by a single run. He was supported by 11 from Jack Walmsley, six not out from Toby Robinson and economical bowling from Anton March. For Walton, Harvey Ake hit 21 not out.

Selby left with nothing from their trip to Malton in the other last-eight clash. Ryan Chapman, who hit 34 not out and took 1-10, led the way.

In division one of the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11 Championship, Woodhouse Grange recorded a 25-run win at Ovington ‘A’.

Freddy Black hit nine not out and took 2-6 with Lewis Ainley 1-4 and Will Grewer 1-5. For Ovington, there were wickets for March (1-4), Josh Burland (1-6) and Walmsley (1-9) Four York batsmen were in double figures in their win over Selby. Tom Matthews (19no) led the way with 18 not out from Harvey Gration, 15 from Freddie Schofield and 12 not out from Max Darbandi.

Gration took 2-5, Charles Mosely 2-2, Corby Doeg 2-4 and Jack Davies 1-2. For Selby, Callum Featherstone took 1-4 and Patrick Harpen 0-7.

In division two, Dunnington ‘B’ recorded a one-run win over visitors Stamford Bridge, despite conceding 59 runs in extras. For Bridge, Jack Thompson 2-12, Peter MacFarlane 2-7 and Oliver Pugh 2-8.

Sam Bousefield, with 3-6, and Harrison Gration (2-6) made life difficult for the Ovington ‘B’ batsmen as York ‘B’ secured a 40-run win in the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11 Development League.

Andrew Reed took 1-5, while Thomas Mere hit 13 not out and Andrew Hall top-scored with 16 not out.
