UNBEATEN York thrashed Ovington in Zone A of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15 Championship.

The young Clifton Parkers hit 140-2 with Ted Patmore amassing 48, Will Andrews 34 and Alex Liley 29 not out. In reply, Ovington were bowled out for just 60.

York ‘A’, meanwhile, may well have set a new record when they fired 240-3 against Osbaldwick.

Cameron Burdass and Ben Harris both reached 51 not out and, under the rules, retired.

Tadcaster Magnets (55-6) edged past Bolton Percy (54-8) in their derby while, batting first against Acomb, Tom Stubley (50 no) and James Hattee (40) helped Woodhouse Grange to 129-3.

Despite 50 not out from Jamie Thornton, Acomb closed on 98-4.

Osbaldwick’s Alfie Oliver hit 26 not out in a total of 81-4 and then took 4-6 in the Heworth ‘B’ response of 59 all out. Only 29 from Sam Wragg helped Heworth to stave off a bigger defeat.

Bolton Percy’s score of 39-8 was not enough to gain the points as second-placed Sheriff Hutton Bridge ‘A’ lost only three wickets en route to victory.

Acomb scored 79-6 but it wasn’t enough to see off Tadcaster Magnets who, in reply, closed on 80-2 to record an eight-wicket win and go up to third place.

Ovington’s 123-4 (Ralph Sinclair 28, Tim Burgess 29) proved to be a competitive score for their bowlers to bowl at in their clash with Stamford Bridge.

Charlie Buckley took 5-4 and Op Sorin 3-10 as Bridge perished at 73.

In Zone B, Yapham’s Will Cardy was in the runs and wickets in the win over Gilberdyke. He hit 26 in an innings of 121-7 and then took 3-2 as Gilberdyke were restricted to 93-8. Max Crowther also took 3-7. Gilberdyke’s top scorer was Nathan Creaser with 25.

Second-placed Londesborough Park made 126-5 before limiting Malton and Old Malton to 92-8.

Will Huffer (53no) and Dan Davison (40) helped leaders Heworth ‘A’ beat Sheriff Hutton Bridge ‘B’ by 26 runs.

Pocklington made 104-1 (Alex Smith 43, George Baty 31 not out) against York ‘B’, who made 101-6 (Thomas Backhouse 48 not out and Jonty Peters 3-16).

Third-placed Clifton Alliance got the better of fifth-placed hosts Yapham. For Yapham, Foster made 50 not out and, for Alliance, Jake Atkinson took 3-7 and Joe Kilvington hit 29.

Londesborough Park made 128- 9 against Hemingbrough, whose reply stuttered to 53-8.

Batting first, Pocklington closed on 98-3 with Ed Mills striking 43 and George Baty 27 not out.

Leaders Heworth ‘A’ replied with 99-2 as Paddy Slade made 43 not out and Ryan Whitley struck 43.
