YORK stretched their lead at the top of zone ‘A’ in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-13s Championship in a low-scoring win over Selby.

Selby batted first and were limited to 45-9, with L Webster making ten.

There were wickets for Matt Scurry (1-1), Charlie Atkin (2-8), Harvey Gration (2-5), Freddie Schofield (1-1) and Cameron Hall (1-2).

York equally found runs hard to come by with Matty Roberts topscoring on 12, as A Langham (2-13), P Harpham (1-8), Z Buttle (1-11) and B Atkinson (1-14) skittled half the York side before the winning runs were hit.

Heworth ‘A’ batted first against Tadcaster Magnets and posted a catchable score of 82-6, with R Draper hitting 14. C Dawson (2-11) and A Benjamin (2-15) were the pick of the Tadcaster bowling.

The Magnets’ reply never really got going as A Bell (3-8) and Will Rowntree (2-13) swept them away for 44.

Cameron Orr hit 31 not out and Simeon Farrer 14 as Bolton Percy made 78-4 from their overs. Callum Walton took 1-10 Jack Clark 1-9 and Alex Hay 1-10. Osbaldwick knocked the runs off in 10.2 overs with Jack Clark making a quick-fire 23 not out, Callum Walton 17 and Cam Tomlinson 19.

In zone ‘B’, Sheriff Hutton Bridge totalled 76-4 as they eclipsed Acomb ‘B’s score of 75-6.

A quartet of Malton & Old Malton bowlers helped their team to restrict hosts North Duffield to 23-8 in zone ‘C’. Will Schofield took 1-6, Luke Scott 2-4, Joss Windress 2-4 and Alex Biles 2-6.

In reply, Archie Johnson hit 13 as Malton sped past the Duffield total with just two wickets down. Harvey Johnson was the pick of the home bowlers with 1-9. The win keeps Malton in contention for a play-off spot at the top of the table.

Yapham batted first against Bishopthorpe, making 96-7 thanks to 30 not out from Sam Noble, with 3-13 from O Lewis. In an exciting finish Bishopthorpe got the winning run with only two balls to spare.

M Sharples finished on 30 not out and J Stowe hit 18, while Jack Creaser took 3-6.

Tyler Thomas (20 and 2-10), Harry Smith (18 and 1-3), Joseph Rayner (17no) and Flynn Clackless (1-1) helped Drax to a win at Londesborough Park.

Earlier, Park had posted 81-5 thanks to Henry Smith (11), E Norris (14) and Archie Raper (11). Adam Humble took 1-7 for Park.

Pocklington batted first against Stamford Bridge and closed on 77-7 thanks to 19 from Harry Jackson, 20 from Ted Baty and 28 extras. This was despite Ben Beard taking 5-6.

Taylor Stanton made 16, Will Dixon 13 and Liam Easton 13, but the Bridge reply fell just short at 65-6.

Pocklington’s Tom Scrowston took 1-4, Owen Jones 1-3 and Aidan Moore 1-7.
