A TRIO of Woodhouse Grange bowlers were in the wickets in their win over Dunnington in division one of the York & District Junior Cricket League Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under- 11 Championship.

Josh Matthews had figures of 3-8, Jack Wight 2-3 and Henry Hobson 2-8. With the bat, Hobson scored ten and Arlo Miller 15. Dunnington’s E Hammond made ten and J Wilson took 2-5.

Woodhouse also took the points with a dramatic five-run win over Malton & Old Malton.

The game was all square until the last ball of the Malton innings, when Josh Matthews secured a run out to give Woodhouse the win.

For Grange, Miller made 25 not out, including 19 off one over, and Freddie Black 14. Jack Wight took 2-12 for Malton. In reply, D Batchelor and M Lock both hit 15 not out.

Heworth also got the better of Malton thanks to 12 not out from J Crane, 3-2 from O Harrison and 1-2 from T Inkstall. M Lock was in the wickets with 1-3 along with S Yates 1-3.

O Parsonage, with nine not out and 3-5, led Selby to a home win over Ovington. W Barnes took 1-5 as did D Kemp. For Ovington, Anton March made eight not out and had figures of 0-2 and Thomas Farrell took 2-10, with 1-8 from Ned Samuels.

A host of Clifton Alliance players made hay with the bat in a win over Walton in division two.

Leading the way was Joseph Baker (25 and 1-11), Nathan Gorst (22), Kier Brooke-Humphreys (13 and 2-8), Elliot Heath (ten and 2-2), Ben Croft (2-6), Ben Hudson (0-2) and Freddie Mills (0-4).

For Walton, Thomas Gilding made 13, while Taylor Pawson- Maywek (1-14), Jack Murphy (1-6) and Harry Hudson (1-8) all made their mark with the ball.
