YORK took the points in their York & District Junior Cricket Association Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-9 Championship zone ‘A’ clash with Bolton Percy.

Elias Smith made 26 not out, Joe Wilkinson 17 not out and Alex Wood 23, while with the ball Miles Phillips took 2-6, Alex Wood 1-5 and Darsh Johar 1-9. Percy’s Ollie Appleyard put up some stern resistance with 22 not out and there were wickets for Jamie Parsons and Harry Nicholls.

Unbeaten York beat Clifton Alliance thanks to Elias Smith (24), Darsh Johar (23 and 2-10), Alex Wood (1-3) and William Brunton (1-5).

For Alliance, Ben Bruce top-scored with 23 not out, Ollie Brooke-Humphrey hit 21, Jamie Hudson 20 not out and Toby Barker 17 not out, with support from Matthew Carruthers (3-7), Matthew Dawes (2-2) and Jacob Mills (1-7).

York ‘A’ got the better of Ovington ‘A’ with runs from Joe Wilkinson (17), Elias Smith (17) and Finlay Recchia (16).

Recchia took 2-6 and Smith 1-5, supported by 1-3 from Miles Phillips.

For Ovington, Josh Blower contributed with 1-15 and Noah Morgan 1-16.

In zone ‘B’, Stamford Bridge had a good win over hosts Acomb ‘B’.

George Pye was the pick of the Bridge players, hitting 22 not out and taking 2-8. Thomas Holmes made 19, Fenton Griffiiths 16 and Will Leonard 15.

For Acomb, Ben Wright hit 13 not out and Sophie Kay 12 not out.

Heworth had a 35-run win over Dunnington ‘A’.

In zone ‘C’ of the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U9 Development League, York ‘C’ scored a win over Bolton Percy Girls. Hugo Nixon made 12 not out and Jack Robinson 11 not out. There were wickets for Louis Todd (2-2), Hugo Nixon (1-1) and Georgia Flack (1-1).

Wheldrake duo Ben Conteret (20no and 2-3) and Matt Wills (20no and 1-4) led their team to victory over Malton & Old Malton. Danny Exton made 14 not out and Ollie Lambert took 2-5. F Tyson top-scored for Malton with 15 not out, with B Archer making 14 and C Hudson taking 0-8.

Clifton Alliance and Dunnington fought out a close, low scoring game, which eventually went the way of Alliance. Jacob Caisley took 2-5, Matthew Hobson 1-1 and Matthew Richardson 1-2 for the winners.

Oliver Lambert hit 44 not out and Joe Plevey 17 as leaders Wheldrake overcame Bolton Percy Girls.

There were also wickets in Wheldrake’s cause for Emily Goodman (1-2), Matt Wills (1-3) and Benji Goulding (1-9).

Harvey Jackson hit 55 not out as Dunnington ‘B’ overcame Ovington ‘C’ by a big margin. There were runs for Ovington’s Joe Foukes and a wicket for Annabel Clarke.

Scores of 12 not out apiece from Ben Bruce and Matthew Hobson aided Clifton Alliance’s victory march at Malton & Old Malton.

Bruce also took 1-4, Matthew Ficco 1-5, Freddie Marshall 1-4 and Jake Meed 1-4.

Malton’s B Fisher made six not out and took 0-6, while C Tyson also took 0-6.
