YORK booked their place in round two of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11 Cup with an easy win over neighbours Clifton Alliance.

Harvey Gration hit 30 not out, Jack Davies 29 and Tom Matthews 24 not out for York, while Toby Search had the Clifton Parkers’ best bowling figures with 2-0 from two overs.

Alliance’s Jaco Skehan hit 11, Joseph Hodge took 1-18 and Nathan Gorse 1-21.

Walton joined York after an eight-wicket win over last year’s champions and cup runners-up Acomb.

Acomb batted first and made 63-9 with Harry Oaten top-scoring on 14, but they were kept in check by Max Hastie (4-3) and Zak Leonard (2-12).

In reply, J Young hit 35 not out as they closed on 67-1, with Harry Watkinson taking 1-7.

Bolton Percy beat Woodhouse Grange by four wickets thanks to 12 from Ben Gibbs, 1-6 from George McVey and 1-4 from Harrison Nicholls.

Acomb beat Ovington by 36 runs to maintain their unbeaten record in division one of the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11 Championship.
