MALTON & Old Malton made home advantage count in gaining a win over Sheriff Hutton Bridge in division one of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11s Championship.

Ryan Chapman was the top performer, hitting 13 not out and taking 2-7. He was well supported by Ethan Smith, 10 not out and 1-5, and Seb Swallow (1-5). For Bridge, C Saxby made 10 not out and L Humphries took 1-3.

Ovington’s bowlers led the way in a 13-run win over Malton & Old Malton despite a high extras count. J Bartley had figures of 3-13, T Farrer 2-9 and J Lamb 2-4. For Malton, Joshua Mann took 2-12, Dan Hill 1-8 and J Judge 0-6.

Acomb ‘A’ remain unbeaten after winning at Woodhouse Grange. Chris Wood hit 14 and there were wickets for Ben Pearson 2-5, Harry Oaten 2-7 and Max Kay 1-4. For Grange, Josh Matthews took an excellent catch.

Tom Francis, with 23, and Alex Stone (13) were the mainstays of the Heworth batting in their Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11s Knockout Cup (HB) clash at Malton & Old Malton.

They were kept in check by Ryan Chapman (1-17), J Judge (2-11), Joshua Mann (1-14), S Yates (1-10), Oliver Tetlow (1-4) and E Smith (1-2) who restricted the score to 59-7.

Chapman then hit 17 and was well supported by 13 not out from both Joshua Mann and Oliver Tetlow in their 60-4.
