YORK’S Harvey Gration was the star player as his team beat Pocklington in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Under-11s League.

Gration made 16 not out and then took 6-11 with support from Freddie Schofield with 2-4. For Pocklington, Ollie Green took 1-11 and Oliver Spider made eight.

Unbeaten Acomb had a big win over Dunnington. Harry Watkinson top-scored with 17 not out and took an impressive 5-8 in three overs with Ben Thornton taking 4-10 and Theo Walton 3-10. Edward Hammond hit 13 for Dunnington.

Clifton Alliance comfortably won at Heworth ‘B’, thanks to bowling from Ben Hudson with 5-7 and Joseph Hodge 4-12. With the bat, Alliance’s Nathan Gorst top scored with 14.

A trio of two wicket hauls by Ovington bowlers helped them overcome Malton & Old Malton in a 16 run win. Jacob Lamb and Jo Bartlett both took 2-4 and Thomas Farrell chipped in with 2-9.

In the U13s Cup, Tadcaster Magnets bowled first at home to Clifton Alliance and Manny Denubriga took 3-24. Alliance closed on 56-8 with Barney Barker top scoring on 15 but Charlie Marr hit 33 to help the Magnets to a three-wicket victory.

Selby and Heworth ‘B’ was the one league game to escape the weather. Heworth batted first and posted 41-9 in their allotted overs. But Selby made 42-5 to take the points.

Acomb U9s ‘A’ had a big win over Bolton Percy.

Thomas Wood top-scored with 30 and took 3-3 along with Billy Armistead making 18 and James Hickey 16 to help their side to victory.

York started with a win at Sheriff Hutton Bridge. Darsh Johar hit 22 and took 1-3, Finlay Recchia also made 22 and Elias Smith 21 to star for York. Toby Welch was the pick of the Bridge batting, making 20.

Londesborough Park started their season with three straight wins against Stamford Bridge, Malton & Old Malton and Dunnington ‘A’.

Against Stamford, Oliver Rook top scored for Londesborough with 21 and took 1-8 to help his side to victory. Rook was also the pick of the bowling with figures of 3-1 as Londesborough won their second match.

Batting first against Dunnington ‘A’, Rook was in the the runs this time with 17 and followed this up with bowling figures of 2-0.

Wheldrake took the points with a 19-run win at home to Acomb Girls. Ben Contoret took 2-2 for Wheldrake while Charlotte Armstrong took 1-6 and Libby Devaney top scored with eight for Acomb Girls.

York ‘B’ had a close win over Acomb ‘D’ with Louis How top scoring with 11. Acomb’s Will White hit 15 and Patrick Tingle took 1-10.

North Duffield won at home to Ovington ‘B’ with All-rounder Luke Miller making ten not out and taking 3-3, supported by Harry McCart’s nine not out and 2-6. For Ovington George Healey took 2-5 and George Anderson 1-6.
