YORK & District Under-17s started the Joe Lumb Competition in disappointing fashion as they lost to Bradford by six wickets at Farsley.
York openers Toby Pratt and skipper Sean Harland put on 70 for the first wicket before Harland went for 30. Pratt went on to make 88 but York finished with a below par 151-7.
Andew Brewster struck early on but Bradford recovered from 3-1 to 76-2.
Three wickets in quick succession left Bradford on 104-4 but the hosts powered to victory.
Harland took 2-13 for York, while Ryan Gaughan claimed 1-37.
