WELSH international cricketer Gemma Mumby will be running a new Love-cricket course at Acomb Cricket Club for seven to nine-year-old boys and girls from Sunday, April 6.

Mumby, pictured, started playing cricket at the age of nine and progressed through junior and senior county teams before earning her place in the Welsh national squad.

She made her Four Nations international debut in South Africa in 2006 and has since been selected for three World Cups.

As a Level 2 qualified ECB coach, Mumby has coached junior girls’ and boys’ teams in England and Australia.

She said: “Playing cricket to an international level has enabled me to make many long-term friendships and travel the world.

“The opportunities for young cricketers have never been greater and, by making the coaching fun and enjoyable for the children, not only will they learn sound technique but also hopefully develop a real passion for the game.”

The course starts on April 6 and runs for ten weeks.
