YORK lost their unbeaten record in the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15s Championship zone ‘A’ as visitors Sheriff Hutton Bridge booked their berth in the play-offs.

Batting first, Will Quinn hit 50 and Harry Sutcliffe 33 in a score of 138-3. York’s reply was founded on 31 from Alex Martin and 35 from Tom Belt but they ran out of overs on 104-6.

Two other half-centurions were the Dunnington pair of Jack Spofforth and Jay Snowden, who both hit 51 not out as their side put on 143-1 against Bishopthorpe.

The chase proved too much and Bishopthorpe could only manage 62-9 in reply.

Acomb beat Tadcaster Magnets thanks to 43 from Alex Taylor in a total of 103-6. Magnets fell just short on 91-8.

Bolton Percy bowler Cyril Farrar’s 4-3 restricted Dringhouses to 48 all out – a total that was quickly surpassed.

Zone ‘B’ saw Clifton Alliance rack up a ten wicket victory over Pocklington thanks to 50 not out and 3-16 from Jake Atkinson.

Leaders Malton & Old Malton finished their league programme with an eight wicket victory over Osbaldwick.

George Ullyott took 4-2 as Osbaldwick were contained on 42-9.

Londesborough Park made 130-4 with Joe Shingles 51 not out before rolling over York ‘B’ for 45.

Adam Harrison took 3-1 and Harry Gamble 3-10.

Ovington and Yapham fought out a close duel.

Jack Foster made 42 not out and David Bird 35 in Ovington’s total of 124-4, which was just enough to see them home.

This year’s play-offs will see York ‘A’ host Londesborough Park, while Sheriff Hutton Bridge will go to Malton & Old Norton.
