OVINGTON took the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-11 Championship division one points at Sheriff Hutton Bridge thanks to a trio of bowlers - Finn Baqai, Jack Walmsley and Charlie Tighe who took 2-2.

Baqai also hit 14 when his side batted, while, for Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Iser took 2-5, Walker 2-8 and Pipe 1-6.

Toby Baker hit (26no) for Clifton Alliance to overcome hosts Heworth ‘A’. Ben Croft chipped in with 18 and Freddie Mills 14 not out.

The key to their win was the economical bowling of Elliott Heath (0-2), Toby Baker (0-3) and Ben Hudson (0-3). For Heworth, Bailey Kaye hit 10 not out, while Charlie Petch claimed 1-12 and Zach Bell 1-20.

Pocklington duo Harry Jackson (25 and 2-5) and Oliver Spicer (14 and 2-6), supplemented by Freddie Taylor’s 2-4, sealed the points at Dunnington ‘A’, whose James Crichton made 12 and took 2-8.

In the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company U11 Development League, York ‘B’ toppled Ovington ‘B’ after posting a challenging score thanks to 12 not out from Ben Cassey and a flurry of extras.

York’s Ben Wright took 1-0 and Sam Bousfield 1-7, while the Ovington attack was led by Annabel Clarke’s 2-10, backed by 1-13 from Oliver How.
