SHERIFF Hutton Bridge, Londesborough Park and Malton & Old Malton are all unbeaten after two rounds of matches in division one of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15 Championship.

Harry Sutcliffe hit 41 not out in a Sheriff Hutton Bridge total of 57-0 in reply to 56-4 from Woodhouse Grange, for whom Harry Matthews contributed 25.

Against Clifton Alliance, Sheriff Hutton Bridge batted first and posted 115-5. Sutcliffe was again in the runs, with 32, supported by Arthur Campion’s 26. For Alliance, Jack Mayfield took 2-14. In reply, Alliance closed on 94-7, with Owen Marshall making 26 and Josh Berry taking 2-6 and Isaac Giannini 2-18.

Londesborough Park had wins over Acomb ‘A’ and Dunnington.

Against Acomb, they posted 74-7, with Harry Watkinson pegging them back with figures of 3-6. Park then restricted the Acomb reply to 60-5.

The Londesborough Park batting was better as they posted 132-3 against Dunnington thanks to 51 not out from Lucas Stephenson.

Dunnington closed on 32-6.

In a low-scoring game dominated by bowlers, Malton & Old Malton overcame Acomb ‘A’ by six wickets.

Thomas Barker took 3-6, Alex Biles 3-16 and Josh Windress 2-2 as Acomb were skittled for 54.

Ralph Sinclair made 34 in an Ovington total of 97-5. In reply, Joe Harland top-scored with 30 not out in Malton’s 98-3 total.

Joe Kilvington top-scored with 51 not out as Clifton Alliance made 133-2 against visitors Bolton Percy.

Despite 28 from Joseph Dobson and 31 from Oliver Pettit, Percy were unable to chase down the Alliance total and finished with 101-4.

York also got the better of Bolton Percy with a ten-wicket win. Percy batted first and were restricted to 80-8, in which Joseph Dobson made 36. In the wickets were Alex Leahy (4-17), Charlie Robinson (2-14), Tom Backhouse (1-8) and Sam Wordsworth (1-7). The York reply was headed by Alex Lilley, who hit a quick-fire 54 not out, backed by 14 not out from fellow opener Ben Robinson.

Heworth ‘A’ overcame Dunnington in a game where only one wicket was taken. Dunnington scored 75-1, with Harrison Mussell 43 not out. In a reply of 76-0, Heworth’s Oliver Hughes made 39 not out and Kewell Ford an unbeaten 28.

Ovington batted first against Woodhouse Grange and were restricted to 54-5, of which Tim Burgess contributed 26 not out and Dan Robertson took 2-9. Grange’s winning reply was spearheaded by James Hattee’s unbeaten 38.

In division two, Hemingbrough advanced to two successive wins.

They restricted hosts Acomb ‘B’ to 97-5, Dan Murie scoring 43, while James Boyd-Bell took 2-13, Frazer Heath 1-19 and Joseph Vince 1-10.

In reply, Olly Turvey hit 41 not out, supported by Boyd-Bell with 18 not out, as they triumphed on 98-2.

Heath (2-1), Boyd-Bell (2-14) and Vince (2-12) were in the wickets again as Stamford Bridge were bowled out for 67. Oliver Steward scored 25 not out in the Hemingbrough reply of 69-5, despite a fine 3-14 haul by Josh Hannon.

An unbeaten 46 from opener Sam Noble and 52 not out from partner James Harrison saw Yapham to a total of 128-1 against Pocklington, whose Tom Kirby took 1-4. When Pocklington batted George Baty made 46 not out and Ethan Spicer 17 in a reply that closed at 93-5. Yapham’s Robert Boddy took 1-6, Callum Mooney 1-7 and James Creaser 2-4.

Sam Noble hit 43 not out as Yapham also made it two wins from two against Gilberdyke.

Noble was supported by skipper Callum Mooney (23no) and James Harrison (21) in a total of 106-2. For Gilberdyke, James Malcolmson took 1-16 and Sam Dredge 1-21.

Wicketkeeper Greg King top-scored with 14 in the Gilberdyke reply, with Liam Creaser adding 13, but wickets from Robert Boddy (2-4), James Harrison (1-7), Henry Kay (2-1) and Hamish Broadbent (1-8) saw the innings close at 54-7.

Heworth ‘B’ batted first against Stamford Bridge. Tom Pearson top-scored with 25 in a total of 75-7. James Cain was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-9. In reply, Alfie Oliver hit 26 not out as Stamford Bridge took the points with 77-5.

Heworth fared better taking the points against Osbaldwick, Tommy Pearson again top-scoring, this time with 36, in a total of 79-8. Callum Walton took 3-4. Robert Draper took 4-10 and Harry Sturdy 2-11 as Osbaldwick were bowled out for 62.

Hosts Bishopthorpe succumbed to Acomb ‘B’. Batting first they totalled 76-8, with Dom Wood taking 2-10. Louis Crosby’s 30 not out and 28 from Dan Murrie saw Acomb home with 79-1.
