YORKSHIRE trio Jack Leaning, Will Rhodes and Matt Fisher passed on tips from the top to youngsters at York's Civil Service Cricket Club.
The Tykes youngsters all came through the junior ranks at clubs from the Hunters York & District Senior League, Leaning at Heworth, Rhodes at Stamford Bridge and Fisher at Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
That link between the grassroots of the game and the county elite was bridged at Civil Service's junior registration night at The Outgang in Heslington.
Leaning, Rhodes and Fisher took the juniors through an hour-long session of games and coaching skills, before the children had the opportunity to hold the County Championship trophy and have photographs taken with the players.
Yorkshire chief executive Mark Arthur held a light-hearted question and answer session.
A Civil Service spokesman said: "With Jack, Will and Matt all starting out at local community clubs, the juniors were able to see first hand what can be achieved and what it takes to become a first first class professional county and England cricketer.
"A big thanks to the juniors and their parents, who we hope are the future of the club and begin to share the enjoyment of the game."
Civil Service field teams in the York & District Senior League and the Pilmoor Evening League.
The junior section consists of under-9s and U11s teams, with practice sessions held on Fridays.
