YOUNGSTERS from Wigginton Grasshoppers picked up tips from some of England’s brightest young talent at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
The York club’s under-8s squad wrapped a successful second season in the York & Ryedale Mitchell Football League with a trip to watch England Under-21s beat Germany 3-2.
Manager Rudie Humphrey said: “It was a good game for the boys to watch.
“England’s future stars battled back from 2-1 down to get a result. Let’s hope they got some tips.”
Ethan, one of Wigginton’s top scorers this season, added: “There were loads of players from the Premier League playing. That’s where I’d like to end up.”
The squad will play a round of Footgolf at the new Skelton course as part of their awards night next month.
