YORK Elite Shotokan Karate Club youngster Owen Dunckley swept to success at the 46th North West Open Karate Championships at Leigh Sports Village.
The ten-year-old 1st Dan cruised through the early rounds and into the final, where he picked off his opponent with ease to win without a point being scored against him.
Club-mates Connor Dunckley (2nd Dan) and James McNichol (1st Dan), both aged 13 and England squad members, also performed well.
The England pair competed against some of their international team-mates in a section for youngsters aged up to 15, but were unable to record podium finishes.
