LEADERS Wilberfoss Under-15s were 4-1 winners over visiting Scotton Scorchers in the City of York Girls’ Football League.
The Scorchers put up a spirited display despite being a player short, but two goals in two minutes early in the first half from top scorer Syd Greening set up a comfortable win.
In the ninth minute, Greening neatly slotted in from a one-two. A minute later she rifled in her second.
Scotton pulled a goal back but excellent defending from Alice Ella prevented the visitors equalising.
Ellie Whytock coolly slotted home the third just before the interval.
Nine minutes into the second half they sealed the points with the best goal of the game. Player of the match Ellie Parkin beat three players before firing home an unstoppable shot.
