SECOND v first saw a City of York Girls Football under-15 nine-a-side League crash for leaders Wilberfoss.

The table-toppers were toppled 4-2 by second-placed Fulford, whose visit produced home cold comfort.

It took Foss right until the last 15 minutes to find their form and salvage some pride by halving the arrears - a comeback that ultimately was too little, too late, though they still remain at the summit of the table.

After early endeavours from goalkeeper Georgia Stanton and right-back Alice Ella, finally sprung into after 17 minutes with Poppy Clancey and Jess Alston to the fore.

But the positive approaches were dented when Fulford struck two goals in the space of three minutes.

Emma Nelson went close for the hosts just minutes into the second half only for the home hopes to evaporate with another rapid one-two from Fulford again in the space of no more than four minutes doubling the lead to an unassailable 4-0.

With just a quarter of the clash to go and, after a shot from Alex Harvey drew a fine save, Ellie Parkin weaved past several challenges into the area to find top scorer Syd Greening who scrambled the ball home.

Four minutes later they got a second. Again it was striker Greening applied a left-foot finish after running on to a pass from player of the match Olivia Cant .

A third was only denied by a brilliant save from the Fulford keeper to paw away a fierce drive from Ellie Fitzmaurice, while Jess Wills shot fractionally wide in a storming Foss finish.
