YORK Schoolboy under 11s tasted defeat for the first time this season when they went down 3-1 to Sheffield Blues.
The Minstermites fell behind on 14 minutes following a poor clearance but, during the second of three periods in the hour-long game, Jack Hughes pounced on a Myles Jackson free kick to level the scores.
Sheffield went on to dominate the final third, however, with a long-range effort restoring their lead and, despite York being gamely driven on by midfielder Oliver Kilvington, they were caught again on the break during the final five minutes.
