JOSH DICKINSON crowned a superb day for City of York Athletic Club's juniors at the Northern Cross Country Championships in Pontefract.

He took the Under-13s boys' race, beating Leeds' Tommy Dawson by four seconds, to add to the Yorkshire title he won two weeks ago. Strong finishes for Toby Antcliff (22nd), Finnian Hutchinson (34th) and Herbert Antcliff (39th) also meant the club also took home the team gold medal.

The U17s men were hoping to match the team title they won two weeks ago at the Yorkshire championships. They did so in style. Josh Schofield and Ben Lewis finished seventh and ninth respectively.

The improving Tyler Hutchinson came 20th and Peter Jarvis was 32nd as the team finished on top again.

The U15 boys were led home by Angus McMillan in sixth, with Nathan Smith just a place behind his clubmate. Alex Botterill's best race of the winter saw him finish in twelfth.

Maurice Carlton-Seal was 29th and that meant the team took the gold medal - bettering the silver they bagged at the Yorkshire event. Elliott Hutchinson (39th), Luca Parker (78th) and Oliver Cockerill (86th) also ran.

The club had four representatives in the U13 girls' race with Martha Carlton-Seal leading the way in 48th. With support from Georgia Neary (66th), Abi Robinson (102nd) and Abigail Smith (129th), the team finished 16th overall.

The highlight of the other junior girls races was Ella Eadon’s fine fifth place in the U17 women’s event with Christiana Pain in tenth. Georgia Rothwell, in 48th, was the only finisher from the club in the U15 girls' race.

Tom Bean was the club’s top performer in the senior men’s race in 39th with Paul Goble (230th) and Michael Raynes (307th) also running. Karen Wood (126th) was the club’s only representative in the women’s race.
