A FAST start helped Huntington into the last four of the York FA Under-12s Junior Cup.

The visitors raced to a 2-0 half-time lead at York RI Galaxy in a rearranged tie after the original match was postponed due to a waterlogged New Lane pitch.

Leo Jones hammered the ball into the York RI net from 18 yards and then team-mate Luke Jones doubled the lead with a neatly placed shot from 12 yards.

York RI grew stronger in the second half and, following a spell of pressure, Ben Horseman pulled a goal back ten minutes from time.

However, Huntington stood firm to book their semi-final spot.

In the York FA Senior Minor (U16s) Cup, Rawcliffe Tigers beat hosts Fulford 4-2 on penalties to reach the last four after the sides were locked at 1-1.

Fulford's Cameron Loftus cancelled out Rawcliffe's opener with a 30-yard strike in the final minute, only to see his side lose on penalties.

Copmanthorpe were 7-0 winners at Rawcliffe Warriors in the quarter-finals of the York FA U11s Junior Cup.

The Warriors had to play their home match at Copmanthorpe's York College pitch, and the division one side proved too strong.

Aidan Cardow and Joe Watt scored two apiece, while Harrison Nicholls and Will Hollings also netted to add to an own goal.

Copmanthorpe are joined in the last four by Rawcliffe, who were 5-4 shoot-out victors at home to Strensall Tigers Yellows after a stalemate.
