Dringhouses kept up their good form in the York FA Under-19s Football League with a 4-2 win at Rawcliffe.

Dylan Howlett got both of the home goals but it was not enough as Tom Hawksby’s brace for Houses was supplemented by Matty Mulhearn and Matt Chilton.

Haxby beat Fulford 5-2 thanks to strikes from David Fell, George Rhodes, Kieran Dunlop, Harry Moorcroft and Liam Brighton.

Bailley Simpson and Paddy Wintie replied.

Stillington and Acomb shared the points and four goals - Adam Douse, for Stillington, and Alistair Fawcett, for Acomb, both hitting doubles.

Thorpe beat York Cubs 4-1 - Steven Frost (2), Tom Butterfield and Andrew Wilson their scorers, with Ed Chapman responding for Cubs.

Tockwith are also on form, winning 8-1 against Wilberfoss. Will Deakin, Thomas Robinson and Will Harrison all hit doubles, with Harry Stobbert and Jack Swindlehurst also on target, Sam McAllister bagged the consolation.

Wigginton beat York RI 5-3, through goals by Owen Scott (2), Sam Hardy Mayo, James Eden and Callum Hurst. Mike Long (2) and James Gallagher replied.

Meanwhile, a lacklustre display from Thorpe United Under-16s allowed Ossett Town to go home with a share of the Garforth League division one spoils.

Thorpe struggled to make in-roads into a well-organised Town defence and often failed to test the keeper when they did get beyond the defenders, as the game ended 1-1.

The Thorpe midfield missed the relentless work ethic of Shaun Heselwood who was drafted into defence to patch up the back line.

They did have a couple of first-half chances. Dominik Stankiwicz played a good ball out of defence for David Melling, who in turn played in Richard Buckthorpe, but he put his effort over the bar. Dan McCarthy played a good ball in for Tim Heaton but he headed wide.

After the resumption, good interplay between Bailey Smirthwaite and Dan McCarthy created space for Corey Littlefield, whose shot was touched wide.

Ossett themselves failed to take a chance when a free header at the back post following a free-kick was headed over.

Thorpe finally got a goal after good play between Jordan Emery, David Melling and McCarthy created space for Smirthwaite, who turned his marker before shooting beyond the Town keeper.

However, the lead only lasted a couple minutes, Ossett scoring after United were unable to clear their lines. Town increased the pressure and kept Thorpe pegged back, but men-of-the-match Matthew Webster and Heaton defended well to keep them at bay.

At one point, from an Ossett corner, Webster deflected a goal-bound effort onto the bar before clearing the danger.

At the other end, Will Pleasance played a good ball to Heselwood, who tried his luck from distance, but the keeper did well to save and, try as they might, Thorpe could not find a way through.
