JOSEPH Rowntree pupil Ben Robinson is celebrating a table tennis bronze medal at the Sainsbury’s School Games.
The 15-year-old finished second in his league section of the under-19s table tennis competition at Manchester to qualify for the semi-finals.
The Year 11 pupil, pictured right, was also part of the Yorkshire and North East squad in the team event, with his side missing out on a medal by a single point.
Barry Cornforth, of Joseph Rowntree School, said: “To win a bronze medal is a fantastic achievement, especially as the tournament is for under-19s and Ben is still just 15.
“This also means that Ben is the third best in his classification in the country, which is an outstanding accomplishment.
“He did himself, his parents, coach and the school proud and l was just so pleased that all the hard work he has put into his training come to fruition.”
