David Lloyd 2 claimed top spot and secured promotion from division five of the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League after beating Knaresborough 2 67-41.
Dunnington 3 moved up into third place after beating Sheriff Hutton 62-46, with Judith Peeke Vout and Rachel Booth top-scoring for Dunnington with 25 games. At the other end of the table, Copmanthorpe 3 eased their relegation fears with a win against a depleted Cawood side.
Julia Barber and Gill McGrory claimed 28 of Bubwith’s 67-game haul in their victory over New Earswick to keep their survival hope alive.
In division two, 13-year-old Rebecca Hill partnered Emma Owen to bag 29 games for Pocklington 1 in their rescheduled match against Fulford 2.
They helped to secure a 63-45 victory which confirms Pock’s promotion into the top flight next season.
Boston Spa’s defeat of Dunnington 2 keeps them in second place and favourites to join them.
Castlegarth 2 swapped places with Fulford 2 after defeating them 63-45, Trish and Angie Bell top-scoring for the Wetherby club with 25 games.
Cop and Wigginton remain at the bottom after defeats by Pock and Knaresborough respectively.
York 1 remain on course for the title in division one after a resounding victory at struggling Bishopthorpe, Julia Lister and Siobhan Gilfillan winning 30 games to outscore team-mates Wendy Stirke and Sasha Taylor by the odd game.
Poppleton climbed into second place after a closer battle with York 2, where a haul of 30 games for Rebecca Turnbull and Roz Wilson ensured a 58-50 victory.
Dunnington’s heavy defeat of Castlegarth moved them into fourth place. Despite their second win of the season against David Lloyd, Fulford 1 look favourites to join Bishopthorpe in division two.
Top scorers of the week were in division three, Lisa Jacobs and Helen Halsall racking up 34 games to help Starbeck to a resounding victory over bottom club Riccall.
However, the Harrogate club have been overtaken at the top by Pocklington 2 after their victory over Boston Spa 2.
The top three in division four all recorded victories.
Heworth’s defeat to second-placed Cliffe confirmed their relegation, while Tollerton’s 55-53 victory over Cop 2 saw them trade places with Fulford 3 and move into fourth.
It is tight at the top of division six. Bishopthorpe 3 remain top after a comprehensive win over Wigginton 2, Lee Kirkland and Katie Harvey bagging 28 for Bish.
Stamford Bridge remain second despite a narrow defeat against Appleton Roebuck 2.
