ST Peter’s School pupil Adam Janes narrowly missed out on a medal in the Great Britain eights boat at the World Under-23 Rowing Championship in Lithuania.
The GB crew finished fourth behind gold medal winners the USA, silver medalists Germany and third-placed Australia. They were fifth at the half way stage but closed to finish just over a second behind Australia.
Janes and his crew-mates missed out in their heat on Thursday, but won Friday’s repechage by a second from Spain to book their place in yesterday’s final.
