Great Britain rowers reach semi-finals

YORK City Rowing Club star Tom Ransley and his Great Britain eight crew eased into the semi-finals at the World Championships in Slovenia.

Ransley and his crew mates won their heat by just under a second from the USA having tracked early leaders China all through the race before powering ahead in the closing 500 metres in Bled.

Great Britain, silver medallists last year, are now through to the semi-finals on Wednesday, aiming to book a place in Sunday’s final.
