FORMER York City Rowing Club star Tom Ransley will line-up in a strong Great Britain eight crew for this month’s World Cup regatta at Eton Dorney in London.
The University of York graduate, who now rows for the Leander club, will feature alongside 2012 Olympic gold medal-winning trio Andrew Triggs Hodge, of Hebden in North Yorkshire, Pete Reed and Alex Gregory.
They have been switched from the four to the eight, with Ransley, Dan Ritchie, Will Satch, Mohamed Sbihi, Oliver Cook and cox Phelan Hill completing the crew for the World Cup races from June 21 to 23.
The selection is a statement of intent that the eight is the Great Britain Rowing Team’s priority during a post-London Games transitional period.
Meanwhile, Richmond’s Zoe Lee, 27, will line-up in the women’s eight.
