SELBY and District Motor Club are launching their Motorsport For Beginners series next month.

The programme is designed to give people an insight into the world of motorsport, with a series of talks being held at the organisation’s clubhouse at Breighton Airfield.

The series gets under way on June 18 with an introduction explaining some of the basics.

The next event on July 2 will be on car preparation, with speakers giving advice to would-be racers.

On July 16, the subject is navigation and a fortnight later, on July 30, there will be a table-top rally introducing new navigators to reading maps.

A ‘bring your car’ night will be held on August 13, while the August 27 session will be a 12-car rally aimed at the beginner.

All meetings start at 8.30pm and the clubhouse can be found on Ordnance Survey map 105, reference 715345, or at postcode YO8 6DS.

Further information about the series is available by visiting the www.selbydmc.org.uk website.
