NORTH Yorkshire racer Luke Williams endured a troubled return to Formula Ford when he contested the opening rounds of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship at Brands Hatch.
The 21-year-old saved the best till last – finishing the third race of the weekend in second place after staying in contention with winner Dan Cammish throughout.
“I got on the podium finally,” said Williams, of Thirsk. “In the first race I had tyre issues, in the second my alternator failed, so I was determined to make it in the third.”
Leeds’ Cammish won all three rounds and leads the championship with 91 points, while Williams is sixth on 47. The next round is at Donington Park on April 20.
