Hockey: Dickenson double lifts Acomb aces

Acomb men’s first team cruised to a Yorkshire League division four 2-0 victory over Rotherham.

Both goals came from Matt Dickenson, one from a short corner the other from open play.

Despite missing an absolute sitter Dickenson shared the spoils of the man of the match votes with defender Dave Richardson.

Acomb had many chances to score more goals but the Rotherham goalkeeper had an excellent game and provided great damage limitation to the scoreline.

The win puts Acomb second in the league, two points behind leaders Leeds.

Acomb men’s 2nds were without a game.

Acomb Ladies beat visiting Batley 2-0 in the Yorkshire League premier division.
