THE final home game of the season for Acomb Hockey Club Men’s I ended in a 6-1 thumping by Yorkshire League division three leaders Grimsby I.
Goalkeeper Mike Brown pulled off a string of good saves, but the Tangerines were still 4-0 down at half-time.
Grimsby added another two goals after the break before Harry Ellis scored a consolation.
Acomb Men’s II were beaten 3-0 at Harrogate II in division eight.
Boston Spa and Acomb Ladies II held Ben Rhydding III to a 0-0 draw.
