Fit-again Simon Dyson back in the swing

NORTH Yorkshire’s Simon Dyson is one of the later starters in the cash-drenched World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational tournament today.

Dyson, who has gone up to 46 in the world rankings, will be vying for a hefty slice of the prize fund of $8½ million at Akron, Ohio.

And an extra incentive is that with no mid-way cut, the 34-year-old is guaranteed four rounds to sharpen himself more for an assault on the last major of the season, the USPGA Championship in Carolina at Kiawah Island next week.

Malton & Norton GC star Dyson has recovered from the virus which affected him the last two rounds at The Open Championship.

Dyson will be partnered in the WGC Bridgestone International by Spain’s Rafael Cabrera-Bello for the first two rounds.
