Simon Dyson roars back in BMW International Open in Cologne

FOR the second day running York’s lord of the swing Simon Dyson produced a scintillating second half to his bid for a seventh European Golf Tour title in the BMW International Open in Cologne, writes Tony Kelly.

Four-under par from the first round, Dyson started the second on the tenth hole and was quickly into his rhythm with a birdie on the 12th. But then his round went awry. Dropped shots on the 13th, 16th and 18th holes threatened to undue his previous good work.

But, like on the first day, Dyson bagged no fewer than four birdies in the last nine holes, picking shots up at the first, fourth, sixth and eighth holes for a 70 and a healthy six-under par total going into today’s third round.
